About us:

Prestwick Aircraft Maintenance (PAM) Ireland Ltd is Ryanair’s first heavy maintenance facility in Ireland.  Established in 2022 the company supports the maintenance of Ryanair’s growing Boeing 737 NG and MAX fleet and is located in a 3-bay hangar in Shannon, Co. Clare.  The facility employs highly skilled aircraft engineers, mechanics, and support staff.

The Opportunity:

PAM Ireland is now launching our Aircraft Mechanic Training Program. Successful candidates will join a team join a team of highly skilled staff, with an essential part to play in safely maintaining a fleet of over 550 aircraft for one of the world’s largest and most successful airlines.  This is an excellent opportunity to start your career in an exciting and vibrant industry.

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Carry out maintenance tasks as needed and assigned.
  • Consistently deliver a high standard of work in all assignments.
  • Ensure aircraft documentation is completed in accordance with the MOE and company procedures.
  • Follow all company procedures, policies, regulations and the MOE.
  • Keep the work area and environment safe, clean and organised at all times.
  • Assist in other zones as necessary.
  • Adhere to all company procedures, regulations, and safe working practices.
  • Carry out any other tasks reasonably required by Supervisor/ Manager.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Candidates must have completed a Leaving Certificate with a technical subject such as Engineering, Construction Studies, Technology, or possess a qualification/background working in a trade such as Motor, Mechanics, Electrical, Engineering.
  • A strong aptitude for manual work, with proficient hand skills and competence in using tools, is recommended.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Exhibit a positive attitude with a willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to a fast-changing environment and be willing to work shifts, including nights.
  • Ability to pass a comprehensive security background check.
  • Candidates must have unrestricted permission to work in Ireland and to travel freely throughout Europe and the UK.
  • Candidates must be 18 years of age or over.

Please note the following:

·         The initial 12 weeks of the training programme will take place in Prestwick, Scotland. 

·         The program commences on 26 August 2024.

·         Travel & Accommodation will be provided.

·         On successful completion of the training programme, you will have the opportunity to take up a position as a Trainee Aircraft Mechanic based in Shannon.
