Aircraft Engineering Services (AES Ltd) are inviting applications for a Station Engineer to be based at Manchester Airport (MAN) on a Monday-Friday rotation, working in cooperation with our client airline Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline.

The successful Station Engineer will be a self-motivated individual with existing line maintenance experience, who is able to balance the needs of the task, team and individual and demonstrate a flexible working attitude in a fast-changing environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a Licensed Engineer or existing Station Engineer looking to progress their career, learn new skills and join the Management Team.


Reporting directly to the UK General Manager and Technical Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for the leadership and management of Ryanair’s Engineering Line Stations at Manchester Airport (MAN), Liverpool Airport (LPL) and Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA). Duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Management of Routine Maintenance, Aircraft Incidents/AOG’s and Third-Party Liaison.
  • Manpower planning, recruitment, retention and staff performance management.
  • Ensuring appropriate spares, equipment and tooling are available at each location.
  • Budgeting, invoicing and negotiation/management of contracts with external suppliers/companies.
  • Conducting regular base visits, ensuring staff welfare and regulatory (UK CAA and EASA) compliance.
  • Supervision and mentoring of Engineers, Aircraft Mechanics and Trainees.
  • Investigating Maintenance Delays, Engineering Safety Reports and Non-Compliances, implementing strategies to prevent recurrence.


  • Aircraft Line Maintenance experience (Essential).
  • EASA or UK CAA* Part-66 B1/B2 License holder & Recency (Essential):
    • Boeing 737-NG Type Endorsement (Desirable – Type Courses Available).
    • Boeing 737-Max Type Endorsement (Desirable – Type Courses Available).
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (Essential).
  • Excellent time management, with the ability to manage multiple competing priorities and effectively communicate progress to Maintenance Control and Senior Management.
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proven leadership experience, capable of remotely managing diverse teams.
  • Good IT Literacy (Essential), with AMOS Experience (Desirable).

All applicants must have unrestricted right to work and travel in the UK and hold a Full UK Driving Licence.
