Ryanair Labs are currently recruiting for a Java Developer to join Europe’s Largest Airline Group!

The optimisation team builds solutions to make optimal decision in every business area: rostering, aircraft allocation, stock management, maintenance and training plans, scheduling, etc. We are building one of the top optimisation teams in Europe and are looking for a Junior Optimisation Engineer to join our team.

We’re looking for curious minds ready to learn, grow, and thrive in a team of seasoned Optimisation Engineers tackling some of the most interesting challenges in the airline industry.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Collaborating with experienced engineers to solve complex optimisation problems (scheduling, routing, resource allocation, etc.).
  • Learning and applying techniques in operations research, constraint programming, metaheuristics, and mathematical modelling.
  • Working with tools like Python, OR-Tools, Gurobi, Hexaly, etc.
  • Contributing to real-world projects with immediate business impact.

 

Requirements

  • A recent graduate or early-career professional with a background in Computer Science, Optimisation, Mathematics, Industrial Engineering, or related fields.
  • Comfortable with coding, and love tackling abstract challenges, with modular efficient solutions.
  • A team player who’s not afraid to ask questions, take initiative, and try new things.
  • Fluent in English
