Ryanair are currently recruiting for a Polish (&English) Speaking Legal Associate to join Europe’s Largest Airline Group!

This is a very exciting time to join Ryanair as we look to expand our operation to 800 aircraft and 300 million guests within the next 10 years.

The purpose of this position is to support Ryanair’s Customer Service Legal team and the broader company in protecting Ryanair’s interests whilst complying with our obligations under EU Regulation 261/2004. The successful candidate will be hard-working, energetic, self-motivated with a natural ability for problem solving.

  • This role will primarily involve managing the processing of legal claims received from customers or their legal representatives, drafting all manner of court and Alternative Dispute Resolution documents necessary to protect Ryanair’s position, and providing all necessary documentation to support our external and internal legal teams.
  • You will also provide regular support to our Customer Service Legal team on EU261 legislation, case law and any other consumer law matters, keep our records, databases and systems up-to-date, and ensure the timely payment of legal claims.
  • Occasional ad hoc duties will be required to support the team.

The Role:
Ryanair’s significant growth and the increase of EU261 awareness has led to higher case volume and more support and advice being sought from our Customer Service Legal team. 

The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial litigation, air passenger rights, consumer law, with an interest in aviation. They will be required to effectively manage the processing of high-volume litigation brought as a result of disruptions in all jurisdictions where Ryanair operates. They will work closely with the CS Lawyers, Legal Associate Managers, and CS Legal Supervisors in the development of strategies designed to improve success rates of our in-house CS Legal team.

The successful candidate will maintain up-to-date knowledge of passenger rights and relevant EU/national legislation.

Requirements

  • A degree in law
  • Language proficiency in Polish and English. 
  • Interest in litigation work
  • Interest in the airline industry
  • Customer-orientated
  • Ability to deal with tight legal deadlines and high volumes
  • Ability to learn quickly and to work independently and under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Positive attitude and ability to be a team player
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Numerate and comfortable working with data
  • Strong organisation and planning skills and the ability to deal with a large volume of work
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel
  • Experience handling EU261-related matters would be an advantage
  • Understanding of consumer protection legislation, particularly at European level
  • A pro-active, can-do attitude and ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Ability to learn quickly, show initiative and cope with a large and varied caseload, whilst complying with tight legal deadlines
  • A creative and proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Exceptional organisation, planning, record-keeping and communication skills
  • Outstanding drafting and legal writing skills, attention to detail
  • Full professional proficiency in Polish and English (written and spoken). Additional European languages would be highly-regarded.
  • Ad hoc duties will be required to support the team, in an incredibly fast-paced and dynamic environment.
