Ryanair Engineering Delivered by PAM Ireland Ltd is offering an exciting opportunity for a Lead Mechanic to join our team at Hangar 5, Shannon Airport.
Reporting to the Check Supervisor, the Lead Mechanic is responsible for the following key duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to:

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:

  • Lead and co-ordinate the team in their assigned work area of responsibility; prioritise and allocate tasks based on operational requirements. 
  • Carry out maintenance tasks and manage large technical tasks as required. Lead troubleshooting and solve technical problems on the aircraft.
  • Supervise mechanics, contractors, trainee mechanics and apprentices and ensure assigned workload is progressing according to plan.
  • Take ownership for organising and evaluating repairs.
  • Ensure aircraft spares are ordered accurately, on time and in the correct quantities.
  • Ensure all work documentation is updated as the aircraft check progresses and is completely in accordance with the maintenance and Company procedures. 
  • Take an active role in the development of all team members including apprentices and trainees. 
  • Maintain effective communication with other zones/departments. 
  • Ensure a high standard of Quality, Housekeeping, Health & Safety and Tool Care is maintained for their work area and highlight any shortfalls to Check/Zone Supervisor. 
  • Ensure Company Policies, Procedures, Regulations and Instructions are adhered to at all times.
  • Any other tasks as assigned by Manager/Check Supervisor/Zone Supervisor.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Experience:

  • Extensive aircraft experience with a high level of skill and knowledge on B737 NG and MAX is essential.
  • Robust leadership skills with the ability to lead a team successfully to complete tasks on an ongoing basis. Previous experience of leading a team is desirable.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate others and encourage an open, positive team-based environment.
  • Strong IT skills with good knowledge and experience of AMOS.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to work on your own initiative and manage time effectively. Capable of prioritising a demanding workload to tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated and flexible, with a willingness to learn and develop.
