Description

Ryanair Engineering are recruiting for a Technical Representative to join the Heavy Maintenance operation of Europe’s largest airline group.

This will involve building close relationships with Contracted MRO whilst overseeing Base Maintenance inputs on the growing fleet of 737NG, 737MAX and A320 aircraft within the Ryanair Group of Airlines. 

The role has the capacity to be based at any of Ryanair’s base maintenance sites

Key Objectives:

  • Planned to the specifications required by the Operator’s Maintenance Programme.
  • Completed to operational requirements.
  • Completed within budgetary requirements.
  • Completed to EASA Part 145 Standards.

Key Responibilities:

  • Verify that Planning and Technical Services produce accurate and complete work packages within agreed pre-input timeframes and that all required documentation is provided to the Base Maintenance MRO.
  • Lead pre-input readiness reviews with key stakeholders, confirming that the contracted MRO holds the required EASA approvals and has sufficient qualified manpower, serviceable tooling, equipment, materials, and trained personnel to complete the planned work.
  • Maintain oversight of the MRO’s compliance with applicable quality, safety, regulatory, and Ryanair maintenance requirements throughout each Base Maintenance input.
  • Act as the primary technical liaison between the MRO and relevant Ryanair functions, including CAMO, Maintrol, Maintenance Planning, Technical Services, and Safety/Quality, to resolve emerging technical and operational issues.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to MRO personnel on Ryanair maintenance procedures, regulatory requirements, and aircraft-specific issues.
  • Lead and coordinate the on-site Ryanair team, reassigning priorities and resources as required to support safe, efficient, and timely completion of each maintenance input.
  • Monitor maintenance progress against plan and work with MRO leadership and Ryanair stakeholders to optimise resources, maximise available ground time, and minimise disruption to the operational programme.
  • Manage technical issues, aircraft delays, and AOG events to support the earliest safe return to service, ensuring all defect rectification is completed in accordance with regulatory and Ryanair requirements.
  • Maintain commercial and contractual oversight of Base Maintenance inputs, including cost control, validation of additional work, and approval or rejection of justified work-scope amendments.
  • Hold regular performance reviews with MRO leadership and attend operational, technical, and interdepartmental meetings as required.
  • Ensure aircraft records, technical logs, work packs, and associated maintenance documentation are completed accurately, within prescribed timescales, and returned to Ryanair.
  • Monitor the control of Ryanair Group-owned parts, tools, and equipment held by the MRO, including the receipt, storage, and return of serviceable and unserviceable items.
  • Investigate on-site quality or safety concerns as required; report technical issues, delays, incidents, and quality lapses to the appropriate Ryanair departments; maintain required records; and complete mandatory reporting.
  • Produce post-input reports and performance metrics highlighting delivery against plan, areas of success, identified risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Champion continuous improvement by standardising processes, improving procedures, and strengthening cross-functional cooperation across Ryanair and its MRO partners.
  • Undertake any other reasonable duties within the Technical Representative role profile.

Requirements

  • The ideal candidate will have worked in an airline engineering and/or aircraft Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) organization as an experienced EASA B1 or B2 licensed and type rated Certifying Engineer.
  • You will have airline/MRO base maintenance experience with of Boeing and/or Airbus aircraft types.
  • Must have full working knowledge of EASA Part CAMO and Part 145 regulations. Must be very familiar with Boeing/Airbus technical support manuals used for on-wing maintenance of Boeing and Airbus aircraft.
  • Experience in managing performance-based aircraft maintenance contracts is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Microsoft software applications is highly desired.
  • Preferred Professional Aerospace/Engineering degree (or related aviation discipline) from a recognized university.
  • EASA Part 66 B1 or B2 (or equivalent) Aircraft Maintenance Engineer’s License with Boeing 737NG/MAX and/or Airbus A320 aircraft type rating is preferred.
  • The Heavy Maintenance Technical Representative will be based remotely but will spend a high proportion of time at other UK, Europe and overseas locations.
  • The Base Maintenance Liaison Engineer must be willing and able to spend considerable time away from base.
  • Occasional travel may be required at short notice.
