Ryanair Labs is the technology brand of Ryanair, a start-up inside a corporation and a state of-the-art digital & IT innovation hub creating Europe’s Leading Travel Experience for customers. More than 600+ IT enthusiasts are working on 30+ projects with a collaboration of our Dublin, Madrid, Wroclaw and Portugal Labs teams and are making your travel experience unique. We are looking for an experienced Financial Accountant to work directly for our Chief Technology Officer.

The Role

You will oversee IT operations and expenses across four European countries and manage the month end process, including budgeting, preparing management reports, reconciliations, cash flow monitoring, KPI reporting and involvement in continuous improvement initiatives. 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage costs for new and existing IT projects.
  • Responsible for securing R&D grants.
  • Manage invoices, payments, and compliance for all projects.
  • Process payments accurately and within assigned timeline.
  • Recommend build vs. buy IT software.
  • Provide support to relevant IT initiatives and systems projects, as appropriate.
  • Identify and assist with implementation of process improvements.
  • Oversee IT/computer month end process
  • Assist in Payroll related queries.
  • Oversee headcount expenses across all IT locations.
  • Assisting with budgeting and forecasting
  • Ad-hoc duties & projects

Requirements

  • Qualified accountant with strong commercial awareness and at least 3 years PQE. 
  • Strong Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint is essential. 
  • Business oriented and an interest in IT. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Proven track record of delivering exceptional work under tight deadlines. 
  • Previous experience in the IT/Aviation sector is desirable but not essential. 
  • Flexibility with working hours may be required occasionally. 
  • Keen attention to detail & drive to improve quality. 
  • Ability to explain financial concepts to non-financial staff in a confident and professional manner.
