The role sits inside the BI team in Ryanair Labs. The BI team are made up of 95+ people split across the three Ryanair offices: Dublin, Madrid & Wroclaw. Within the BI team there is a range of different professions: Data Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, Optimization Engineers, Data Modellers, BI Analysts, BI Reporters & BI Developers.
The Role:
We are looking for a Data Scientist to work in a multi-disciplined team, working alongside Developers, Designers and Product Owners, who will own their work from the initial idea to the final implementation. The role will allow for opportunities to work in projects for Commercial Department.
Relevant work experience
Bachelor degree, or equivalent experience in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, etc.)
Proven problem solver – the ability to come up with unique solutions to unique problems
Professional experience in working with large data sets
Strong programming skills in at least one of analytical frameworks in R (tidyverse, mlr) or Python (pandas, NumPy, SciPy)
Strong statistics ground
Broad knowledge of Machine Learning topics (clustering, forecasting, classification, anomaly detection)
Able to conduct statistical experiments to measure the effectiveness of our analytic products
Experienced in visualization techniques
Proven track record of being able to deliver insight with the ability to visualize and explain a model to a target audience
Experience implementing a real-world projects in commercial area
Fluent in English
Nice to have:
Ability to translate complex problems in layman’s terms
Familiarity with NLP, Deep Learning, Bayesian Inference
Experience working with Shiny or Dash
Experience working with Hadoop (HDFS, Spark, Impala, Hive) or cloud (e.g. AWS)
