Ryanair is currently recruiting for a Head of Commercial Finance & Analytics to join Europe’s Largest Airline Group.

The successful candidate will be based at our Dublin Head Office where we manage payroll across 20 markets and over 28,000 staff. This is an exciting role for a self-starter, keen to progress their careers in a world leading company.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Ryanair’s long-term growth plans, determining where we should allocate growth and capital to minimise costs and maximise profits.
  • Lead Ryanair’s bi-annual planning process, deploying new aircraft across Europe and determining which routes we operate and how often.
  • Own the regular review of commercial performance, identifying opportunities for growth and enhanced profitability and driving corrective action where required.
  • Own the Commercial Department’s performance framework and KPIs, ensuring management has clear and timely visibility of performance against plan and the key drivers of variances.
  • Lead commercial scenario analysis and business cases for major network and investment decisions, ensuring decisions are supported by robust financial and operational analysis.
  • Monitor competitor capacity, fares and market developments across Europe, identifying emerging risks and opportunities for Ryanair’s network.
  • Work closely with Labs (Ryanair’s tech team) to improve our use of data and data visualisation, better leveraging our data resources to drive commercial outcomes.
  • Collaborate with our Route Development team to ensure airport costs are kept up to date and appropriate action is taken in light of commercial developments.
  • Provide commercial challenge and analysis across the Commercial Department, ensuring key decisions, plans and strategies are commercially sound and supported by robust analysis.
  • Be the key interface between the Commercial Department and Finance, ensuring commercial plans and financial forecasts are aligned.
  • Drive continuous improvement in commercial planning, forecasting and decision-making processes.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a high-performing team of commercial analysts.

While we are open to candidates with different background and experience, a good fit for this role would typically have the following background and capabilities:

  • 7-10 years’ experience in commercial, strategy, finance or analytical roles (corporate or professional services).
  • Highly analytical and numerate.
  • Happy to work in a fast-paced environment, balancing priorities and working to deadlines.
  • Attentive to detail but also able to think at a higher, more strategic level.
  • Strong sense of ownership, willing to see things through from idea to execution.
  • Strong people management skills, with at least 2-3 years’ experience managing teams desirable.
  • Well-developed communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
