Description

Lauda Europe are currently recruiting for a Chief Engineer to join the Engineering Dept of Europe’s Largest Airline Group. 
This is an exciting role leading the Engineering team of Ryanair Group’s A320 fleet across Lauda’s 4 operational bases and is key to the wider Group’s Engineering and Maintenance functions as Ryanair seeks to grow to over 800 aircraft and 300m guests per year within the next 10 years.

Roles and Responsibilities: 

  • Ensuring compliance with the objectives and requirements of the Lauda Europe Safety Policy and Safety Management Systems as it applies to the staff within their area of responsibility.
  • Management and supervision of continuing airworthiness activities to ensure that all those carried out by Lauda Europe and its subcontracted organisations meet the standards required by EU Regulation and the TM-CAD.
  • Notifying the Ryanair Dir. Of Engineering and the Lauda Europe Accountable Manager whenever deficiencies emerge which require their attention.
  • Ensuring that aircrafts are maintained in an airworthy condition and are equipped to meet Lauda Europe’s operating requirements.
  • Ensuring communication with the TM-CAD on matters relating to airworthiness and mandatory occurrence reporting.
  • Revision and submission of the Lauda Europe CAME and any associated amendments, to the TM-CAD for approval.
  • Co-ordinating action on airworthiness occurrences and for initiating any necessary further investigation and follow-up activity.
  • Assessing Subcontractors and Contracted Maintenance Providers for satisfactory compliance with relevant regulations and established contracts.
  • Ensuring that Lauda Europe aircraft are maintained by appropriately approved organisations in accordance with the approved maintenance programme to the standards expected by TM-CAD.
  • Ensuring that the organisation’s procedures and standards are complied with when carrying out maintenance and airworthiness activities.
  • Performance of competency assessments as required.
  • Responding to compliance deficiencies relating to continuing airworthiness which arise from compliance audits.
  • Ensure Lauda’s Europe’s Approved Maintenance Programme is reviewed, maintained, and analysed for effectiveness.
  • Oversee the development, evaluation and implementation of Lauda Europe’s Maintenance and Reliability Programme. 
  • Participation in Safety Review boards and Safety actions groups as required. 
  • Performing Safety Risk Assessments and Management of Change process as per Part-CAMO requirements.
  • Instigating preventative actions as required to ensure Lauda Europe SACA ratio is maintained at an acceptable level.
  • Ensure AD’s and mandatory SB’s are correctly implemented, with non-mandated SB’s reviewed on a risk-based decision.
     

Requirements

  • 5 years of relevant work experience, of which at least 2 years should be from the aeronautical industry in an appropriate position.
  • Knowledge of Human Factors principles and Safety Management Systems.
  • Practical experience and expertise in the application of aviation safety standards and safe operating practices.
  • A relevant engineering degree or an aircraft maintenance technician qualification with additional education that is acceptable to a competent authority.
