Lauda Europe is a Maltese Airline part of the Ryanair Group, which offers wet-lease and charter services. We are expanding our team and are seeking a Payroll Trainee who will be based in our Schwechat (Vienna, Austria) support office.

The Role

The Payroll Trainee will report directly to our General Manager Administration and is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated and proactive individual to build their career in the dynamic aviation industry.

The successful candidate will be trained in a broad range of areas of the business such as;

• Working closely to support Management with admin & payroll tasks.

• Payroll tasks including (but not limited to) update & cross-check payroll inputs, prepare inputs for monthly payroll, support between HR & Payroll, identify & resolve discrepancies.

• Liaise with various departments, to collate payroll inputs.

• Test new payroll & system set ups

• Prepare pay files with fixed and variable calculations.

• Prepare bulk uploads to payroll systems.

• Assist with internal controls and procedures, including (but not limited to) documentation and Payroll Advice Forms (PAFs).

• Liaise with external payroll providers.


• You must hold the right to work & live in the EU.

• Excellent English verbal and written. communication skills (C1+ or native speaker).

• Other languages are not required however are a benefit.

• Strong organisational & interpersonal skills.

• No previous experience is required, and a training syllabus will be provided.

• An efficient and methodical work ethic – accuracy and attention to detail are essential.

• Ability to maintain organisation while effectively managing multiple tasks.

• The ability to meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• High degree of professionalism and ability to handle highly confidential information.

• PC Skills (SAP, Word, and must have advanced skills with Excel).

• And finally, you must be a team player with a good sense of humour!


• Starting salary from €2000 gross per month (14 months), negotiable for the right candidate.
