Facilities Management Assistant – STN Airport

AES (Aircraft Engineering Services Ltd) are inviting applications for an Facilities Management Assistant to join our team based at Stansted Airport, working in cooperation with our client airline Ryanair, Europe’s largest airline, to help us maintain a secure and well-functioning work environment and to support our existing facilities manager where needed.

Day to Day Tasks

  • To support and co-ordinate the delivery of facilities management services, including basic H&S checks
  • Solving day to day problems to ensure the facilities management service runs smoothly with no impact on the working environment
  • To assist in maintaining the site in a good state of repair and appearance including all buildings, offices and facilities
  • Working collaboratively with contractors
  • Managing the onsite issues reported and communicating with the relevant department/personnel when necessary.
  • Report on, arrange and oversee any alterations, redecoration, building, and maintenance works and specialised repair work
  • Maintain complete and accurate records of all statutory maintenance undertaken across the building including weekly and monthly checks
  • Ensure the work is completed by the building’s in-house team and appointed contractors on time and as per H&S regulations and to assist the Facilities Manager in booking in services by external contractor
  • Assist the Facilities Manager with small to medium projects
  • Assist the Facilities Manager in obtaining quotes
  • Assist with the production and management of the estates team roster, holidays, overtime and planned absences
  • Daily liaison with the Estates & Facilities Manager

This role is an office based position. We do not offer remote working or hybrid working for this position.

Our working hours are Monday – Thursday 08:30 – 17:30 and Friday 08:30 – 17:00.

    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to deal effectively with all staff, contractors, and visitors in a professional manner
    • Strong working knowledge of IT and MS Office Strong written communication and numeracy skills Excellent organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail and the ability to organise and prioritise work
    • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Excellent initiative; the ability to think through problems and find solutions
    • Ability to demonstrate leadership qualities and work as part of a team
    • Flexible, adaptable and proactive approach to work
    • An interest in pursuing a career in Estates & Facilities Management Experience of working in an administrative capacity (in a premises/facilities environment, desirable)
    • Experience of maintaining accurate records.
    • Able to work collaboratively as part of the team.
