We are seeking a talented Python Engineer to work in a multi-disciplined team that pushes the boundaries of what is possible with AI. The ideal candidate will have proficiency in Python, extensive experience in cloud technologies like AWS or Azure, and possess strong prototyping skills with stablished frameworks. The candidate should also embody a DevOps mindset, emphasizing collaboration, communication, and efficiency. A desire to work with generative AI is essential, and a background in machine learning would be a significant advantage. You will play a key role in developing and deploying bespoke AI applications, working alongside AI/ML Engineers, Software Developers and Product Owners. If you are driven by curiosity, adapt quickly to new technologies, and are eager to make a significant impact within a cutting-edge AI department, we want to hear from you.

The Role:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate AI components into larger systems.
  • Developing high quality, testable and performant software with unit/integration testing.
  • Contribute to the system design and architecture.
  • Stay up to date with the latest technologies and developments in the software and AI industry.
  • Generate ideas for enhancement and assist in the evaluation process for selecting the most suitable technologies.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a fast-paced commercial environment.
  • Proficient with practical experience in Python.
  • Experience and keen interest in designing scalable distributed systems on cloud services (e.g. AWS, Azure).
  • Good knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases.
  • Knowledge of containerization tools such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
  • Understanding of Infrastructure as Code and practical knowledge of the tooling (e.g. CloudFormation, CDK, ARM templates, Bicep).
  • Good knowledge of development tools (e.g. Conda, PyEnv, virualenv, Pip, Git).
  • Self-standing and strong problem-solving with analytical skills.

Nice to have

  • Exposure to serverless architecture.
  • Experience with microservices architecture and RESTful services.
  • Practical knowledge of web application frameworks (e.g. Django, Flask, Streamlit).
  • Practical knowledge of Software and LLM observability tools like NewRelic, Langsmith, Lunary or Phoenix.
  • Practical knowledge of RAG frameworks.
  • Practical knowledge date visualisation tools like Kibana or Grafana.
  • Experience with TypeScript and Node.js.
